Turkmenistan to open transport and logistics representative offices abroad
The open joint-stock company “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” will open representative offices abroad. Mammetkhan Chakyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, reported on the ongoing work on their opening at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers today.
He said that with the creation of the Open Joint Stock Company “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” in 2018, the volume of cargo and postal international transportation on all types of transport has increased. The world’s largest logistics companies have extensive experience in creating their own representative offices and branches in various countries, which contributes to an increase in cargo traffic in international transportation, coordination of cooperation abroad and market research. With this in mind, the relevant proposals have been prepared, said M.Chakyev.
After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan stressed that cooperation in such a promising area as transport and logistics is an integral factor of integration processes in the globalized world economy, which requires an extensive and efficient international transport infrastructure. Taking an active position on issues of cooperation in this direction, Turkmenistan initiates and implements major infrastructure projects together with foreign partners, the leader of the nation noted.
Stressing that at the present stage of development, basic changes are being carried out in the transport system, a legal framework is being created, the functions of public administration and economic activity are separated, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved proposals to open representative offices in foreign countries and addressed specific instructions to the head of the Agency, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
